A marketing agency needed to revitalise ‘Bazaar,’ a circular economy trading community for SMEs. While the concept had been live for several years, slow adoption and dated aesthetics hampered growth. I was tasked with establishing a modern visual identity and UI design that felt energetic yet professional enough to secure enterprise trust.
Through visual mood-boarding and UI benchmarking, we defined a vibrant design direction that the team was aligned with. I then designed a robust design system and interface improvements consisting of:
- Branding & visual Identity: Designed a playful, vector-optimised logo that encapsulated Bazaar’s brand essence. Alongside this, I themed a high-contrast semantic colour palette.
- Design system: Developed a unified typography hierarchy, iconography kit, and interactive component library in Figma to ensure design production consistency.
- High-fidelity UI design: Engineered a modern, responsive web interface with modern layout grids. Prototypes were created to allow testing of the onboarding and account areas, which had redesigned flows.

What is the difference between UX design and UI design?
Think of UX (User Experience) as how a car ‘feels’ to interact with and drive. How does the ride feel? Are the indicator noises satisfying? Are the seats and driving position comfortable? UI (User Interface) is how the car looks – does it have great paint job? Is the dashboard nicely styled? Does the interior have pleasing cabin LED lighting. UX makes a product great to experience; UI makes it beautiful and visually appealing.
